Who does the work
A door fitter, not a decorator who happens to own a plane. Internal leaves, entrance doors, fire-door sets, French doors, sliders and bi-folds are hung by someone who does that work. You get a written quote from the form or a message on WhatsApp before a visit is booked.
What happens on a visit
The opening is measured at more than one point. If the frame is rotten or out of square, that is said before a new leaf is cut to it. Floors are protected, the old door comes away, the new one is hung, and the latch or multi-point lock is checked. Shavings are cleared before we leave. An external opening is not left unfinished overnight.
Fire doors are a set
Where the door is from a garage into the house, onto an escape stair, or from a flat onto a common stair, the leaf, seals, hinges and closer have to match. We fit that set to the gap in its instructions. We do not issue a fire certificate for the building, and we do not trim a certified leaf past the maker’s limit.
Work we pass on
Windows, up-and-over garage doors, electric gates and new lintels are other trades. A same-night lockout on a door that still hangs is a locksmith. Plastering a whole room after a lining change is a plasterer. We tell you when the opening is not a door-hanging job.
